To become the most widely recognized voice in gerontology for healing the generational gap of outdoor enthusiasts through efforts by example, education, activities, and personalized support in healthy environments.
An introduction of opportunities will inspire ongoing experiences and stories, enticing family members to fall in love with the outdoors and heal generational gaps. Their passion and commitment will contribute to the health of our communities, landscapes and water trails.
HISTORY: We are inspired by deep human history, by the people who established the routes we steward, and by those who continue to work, explore, and travel through our communities to this day.
CONNECTION: We create opportunities to connect people and the environment in order to protect the places and sustainable relationships.
APPRECIATION: Our organization runs primarily on volunteer effort. We will continue to rely on volunteers to carry our mission forward. We will support our volunteers and recognize their efforts, especially those in volunteer leadership positions.
Through our partnerships and donations, we provide opportunities for collaboration, cooperation, and fun as we connect more people to nature. We aim to create an intentional community where families, community organizations, and individuals can develop strong social skills while actively learning outdoor skills, celebrate our cherished outdoor traditions, and inspire everyone to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors. We are a diverse community of active outdoors(wo)men, community organizations, and individuals passionate about fostering a love for the environment and promoting healthy, active lifestyles for ourselves and future generations. Among the specific activities and undertakings of the Corporation is the following: to raise and expend property and funds for the purposes of:
1) providing educational programs that facilitate environmentally sound practices to preserve biodiversity by educating the public about the preservation, restoration, and establishment of green infrastructures;
2) financing and sponsoring, publishing, promoting and distributing research on issues important to watershed;
3) promote a larger and healthier access to the outdoors and water trails as part of the urban ecosystem with community development, maintenance, education and advocacy; and
4) promote, sponsor, and provide access to experiences to water trails, outdoor activities, and projects that are consistent with the stated purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
